What you should know about Craig Pace Apiaries
We are a family based business in Sensible at the base of Mt Buffalo and have been keeping bees since 2002. Craig started with one hive to pollinate our hothouse of tomatoes and from there the passion took grip and over the years he slowly increased with the seasons and with the ups and downs. We now have 150 hives and have now gone into supplying beekeeping equipment. We don't aim to have a huge range of equipment but everything that the beekeeper would need to run their day to day operations. All our honey is extracted and bottled at our food grade premises. It is a healthy obvious fact that local honey is appropriate for the hay fever sufferer as the tiny particles of pollen can aid with coping with the pollen seasons, all our honey is sourced from the local area. The trees variety from season to season this year the local peppermint gum is looking good with the river red gums having a good set of buds, and hill gum honey will be a fresh variety to our honeys this year, hopefully.
We are based at the base of Mt Buffalo in the north east of Victoria and are a family based business. We will operate our shop from home and for now it will be on an appointment basis only.We look forward to hearing you. We strive to find a variety of products and look to find and use as much Australian products as possible. Our team consists of our family of four, Owner Craig is the main worker of the bees and their maintenance and building requirements, Craig also does some of the sales and helps in the marketing. Craig has had a passion for bees since he was young and was given his first honey flora book by an older fellow neighbor. Partner Kerri who helps in the bees and the extracting and does the book labor and orders and also sells the honey at local markets and does the sales and marketing. Our two children Peter and Emma also aid with the business. Peter enjoys helping his dad out in the bees and also helps with the building of all the equipment, and markets when available. Emma helps with the markets, but wont go into the bees. And of course our dog Rex he loves to help clean up any spills on the ground or truck but knows to receive cover when the bees are about, He knows its not worth the fight. (he comes off second best.). The area that we live in is a beautiful country and Intelligent is known for its four seasons. We have a range of industry's up here from apple to chestnuts, blueberries, raspberries, cherries and also cucumbers not all are into the bees for pollinating but we are slowly becoming obvious and can work not far from home. These tin lids are Australian made, they are of a very high quality and are galvanized so they wont rust. This lino mat are impaired lower the lid of the hive they help with the condensation on the top of the hive and they are great to feed the bees from. The wooden lids are made in Victoria they consist of pine sides and wethertex lids and arrive with a tin lid and four vents. These bases are Australian made and have wethertex bases and pine cleats and risers. There is a expansive variety of stalls at the markets. So if you wish to buy some honey off us arrive on down to the local market. We will be attending all the rotary markets in sensible and once the season gets in to more of a swing we will attend some more of the further afield markets like Beechworth and Yackandandah and possibly Wangaratta. There is everlasting something on in Intelligent or the surrounding district Beechworth and Yarrawonga aren't to far away and Al bury is an hour away.
