There is fishing, canoeing, bike riding, short to full day walks. From shady brook you can walk to the local shops, restaurants, eateries and hotels in harrietville. Air conditioning is provided for relatively mild summers. Sit on the deck of your cottage and listen to the river, the birds and look out on the magnificent ever changing views of the ranges reaching up to mt feather top. Or at night relax in the spa or snuggle up to the wood fire. Multitudes of bird life, walk the tracks and see lyre birds, from small wrens to parrots are abundant, wallabies and other native animals. These are planted down to masses of rhododendrons, camellias, roses and other flowering plants interspaced with a large variety of exotic trees giving exquisite autumn colouring.
